How to choose a complete set of golf clubs

What are your golf clubs you choose in your bag probably depends on how you're a golfer.
The needs of low handicapper are very different from that of a beginning golfer. Some clubs are easier to control than others, and a higher handicap golfers should focus on Easy-to-hit clubs. Golfers are able to play more specialized clubs and play a greater number of shots.

Moreover, the rules of golf you can take a maximum of 14 clubs in your bag. (This does not mean you have to wear 14, however, you may be less if you like.)

What clubs should you wear? Here are some suggestions based on your skill level. Remember, these are generalizations - there is a club that you become very good, but is not listed below, save it in your pocket. The results are what matters.

The high handicapper's Bag
Wood 3
4, 5 and 6 hybrids
7, 8 and 9 irons
Pitching wedge
Putter

Highest handicappers can not hit a driver, no matter how bad they want. Drivers are especially dangerous in the hands of high handicappers because many view distance as the quality they most want departure. Then they spent several hundred dollars of Titanium driver that most of the time, only it will continue beyond the fairway, not farther down the fairway.

Need a personal driver - a practice that comes with it on the driving range, and leave home when on the course. A 3 wood or a hybrid gives you a much better chance of finding the fairway of departure. And hybrids are easier to hit than irons low.

Mid-handicapper's Bag
Driver
Wood 3
4 and 5 hybrids
6, 7, 8 and 9 irons
Pitching wedge
Sand wedge
Putter

Many players will be better economy poor 3-wood from the outset rather than driver, but certainly a better chance to verify that the driver high handicappers.

Mid-handicappers who are strong in their short game might consider adding a lob wedge or gap wedge for this family, but most likely better off with hybrids instead of long irons.

The low handicapper's Bag
Driver
Wood 3
2 hybrid
3-iron 9-iron
Pitching wedge
Lob wedge
Sand wedge
Putter

Scratch golfers will carry the same bag, with one exception: replaced by an empty hold for 2-hybrid.

More you are, the more specialized your party. And the best players that specialization leads to emphasize the short game. Most of the best players to hit the ball far enough that they rarely use a long iron, so the opportunity to avoid 2 irons and 2 hybrid for an extra wedge. The lob wedge and gap wedge to grow only a great player options around the green.

Remember: Whatever your skill level, hit the clubs you are comfortable with. Let the results - will not - to determine which clubs you wear.
